周三官员宣布，6/49乐透彩将为九月开始的每周一次的抽奖活动，提供了一个新的保证金1百万美元的奖励。不过目前还没有中奖者，每张彩票花费3美元。

“随着每一次抽奖都可能开出百万美元大奖，6/49乐透彩每周都可能成就更多的百万富翁，”Greg McKenzie，跨省彩票公司总裁说。

这个百万美元奖励将颁发给一组新的独立号码。

中得6个号码中的两个即可获得免费游戏的机会，头奖至少从5百万美元起。

官员说这种玩家会把中奖几率提升近五倍，由1/32提高到1/6。

新式6/49乐透彩将从9月15日开启。

Lotto 6/49 to offer more millions

There will soon be more chances to be a millionaire.

Lotto 6/49 will offer a new guaranteed $1 million prize for each of its weekly draws starting in September, officials said Wednesday. But the new cash doesn't come without a catch, tickets will now cost $3 per play -- a dollar more.

"With the new $1 million prize that's guaranteed to be won with every draw, Lotto 6/49 will be creating more millionaires every week," said Greg McKenzie, president of the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation.

The million dollar prize will be awarded with a new unique number.

Free plays will also be given for matching just two out of six numbers and jackpots will start at $5 million.

Officials say the improvements will bump up the odds of winning nearly five times -- from one in 32 to one in six.

The first draw for the new Lotto 6/49 will be Sept. 15.
