Packer pushes deeper into Asian casino market
James Packer's push into the Asian Casino market has been boosted following a capital raising by the Manila resort project, part-owned by his Macau joint venture, The Australian Financial Review reports.
According to the newspaper, Melco Crown (Philippines) Resorts raised 13.74 billion Philippino pesos on the Philippine Stock Exchange, after selling more than one billion shares at 14 pesos a share.
Melco Crown, itself a partnership between Mr Packer's Crown Ltd and Lawrence Ho, initially paid 1.26 billion pesos in December for a 93 per cent stake in the company that would become known as Melco Crown (Philippines) Resorts.
